OWF’s Innovation in Education Awards
The OWF’s Innovation in Education Awards are an annual event celebrating education excellence and recognizing outstanding programs and educators. The organization brings together educators and students to celebrate educational innovation and highlight exceptional students pursuing STEM education. Nominations are sought for 8 awards. Wes Becker Excellent School Award
The Wes Becker Excellent School Award honors schools that use the principles of direct instruction. Wesley Becker was an educational psychologist and co-creator of the Direct Instruction program at the University of Oregon. He was a leader in educational research, including the study of the effects of direct instruction on learning. The award honors exemplary schools, especially those whose efforts in improving teaching and learning have influenced many others.

Siegfried Engelmann Excellence in Education Award
The Siegfried Engelmann Excellence in Education Award is named for the co-creator of Direct Instruction, Wesley Becker. Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards
The Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards celebrate and reward NT educators for their outstanding achievements in education. The awards are held in conjunction with World Teachers’ Day and honour the outstanding contributions of educators around the world. This year, the awards honour nine NT educators, including school teachers, early childhood educators, principals, leaders, support staff and service providers. Educators are commended for their exceptional commitment to early childhood education and a wide variety of achievements.
